Why I Became a Coach for Aspiring Marine Mammal Trainers

When I landed my role as a Senior Behavior Specialist working with killer whales and dolphins, it felt like a dream come true. But getting into this industry was not easy.

The marine mammal training field is incredibly competitive. Because there isn't a single college major that guarantees a path forward, navigating the industry's unique nuances can feel overwhelming when you're starting out. When I was beginning my journey, I wanted mentorship and clear direction, but it was incredibly hard to find.
